Collection Agency Licensing Requirements: Article 11 of Title 25 of the Indiana Code provides the rules and
regulations for the licensing of a Collection Agency. No person or business entity may
operate a collection agency in the State of Indiana without first obtaining a license from
the Secretary of State. Payment of a licensing fee and provision of a Surety Bond in the
sum of $5,000.00 are required before a license may be issued. Non-Indiana applicant is
required to designate in writing a resident agent within Indiana for service of process.
